Posted by arunselva on August 21st, 2009 | No Comments »
It is slim, with a rubber frame and a new track-pad that replaces the signature trackball.
BlackBerry 8520 is the new offering from Research In Motion. It is from the Curve series. This Curve will fit just perfectly in your life.
Priced at 15,990, it is the lowest priced blackBerry, RIM has brought in Indian market.
In the first impression, it has the looks and the feel of a typical BlackBerry make.
A well spaced QWERTY keypad. Dedicated media keys on the rubber frame are a new addition and there is a 2 megapixel camera.
Since the Curve 8520 is a lower-end model, it doesn’t possess the same high-resolution display as the Curve 8900. It has a lowly 320×240 pixel resolution.
This BlackBerry is a great performer on the inside. It has the push email, The Curve 8520 can sync with your company’s BlackBerry Enterprise server, with support for Microsoft Exchange.
With BlackBerry Internet Service, you can also access up to 10 personal/business POP3 or IMAP4 e-mail accounts.
There’s an attachment viewer for opening Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Corel WordPerfect, PDF, JPEG and more.
Document formation is easy with the compact sized, closely knit keypad, yet easy to access keyboard.
The number keys share space with letters on the left side, though they’re not as easy to spot at a glance since the charcoal gray buttons don’t stand out against the black keyboard whereas the Curve 8900 highlighted them in white.
Entertainment options are aplenty. The smartphone also comes preloaded with several instant-messaging clients. There is easy access to music, and easy download for videos.
With Curve 8520, RIM will bring the BlackBerry experience to a new market. It will be offered with Airtel plans specially designed for it. You can now get your BlackBerry even with a prepaid connection.
However there are certain important features of a smart phone which Curve 8520 does not offer. It does not support 3G and does not have an inbult GPS system.
Yet, Curve 8520, offered by Research In Motion is a good choice for those making first smartphone purchase.
